Briefing with the Boss Brunch showcases USERRA

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. – One of our roles at Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is to connect with employers across our state to teach them about the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, commonly referred to as USERRA. ESGR’s team of volunteers helps them to build great relationships with our Service Members and answer any questions they may have.

Two Michigan Employers Receive Freedom Award

LANSING, Mich. – On Aug. 30 during a ceremony at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. two Michigan employers were awarded the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. This is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their outstanding support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

WASHINGTON -Fifty years ago, the United States military began to fill its ranks solely with brave Americans who freely choose to defend our republic. Ever since the draft ended on July 1, 1973, Americans have joined our military out of conviction, not compulsion.
