MAYAGÜEZ, Puerto Rico – A group of more than 50 Soldiers belonging to the 755th Military Police Company, 92nd Brigade of the Puerto Rico National Guard, are preparing for an upcoming deployment. Before leaving, these brave citizen-soldiers and their families participated in a Yellow Ribbon Program Pre-Mobilization event, held recently at the Holiday Inn in Mayagüez.

The recipients are ESGR volunteers nominated by their respective ESGR State Committee Chairs for their exceptional contributions to ESGR’s mission over a sustained period of time.
Fifteen Exceptional Employers Recognized for Top Honor
WASHINGTON – The Department of Defense is pleased to announce the 15 recipients of the 2024 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award--the highest U.S. government honor to employers for support of National Guard and Reserve employees.
ARLINGTON, Va. – Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III has appointed retired Command Sgt. Maj. John F. Sampa, as the National Chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. ESGR’s National Chair is an official Department of Defense volunteer position.
TOPEKA, Kan. – Dennis Ray Hansen was born in Smith Center, Kansas on December 1, 1946, to Maurice and Betty (Hughes) Hansen. He passed from this earth on May 11th, 2024, at the age of 77. Dennis had been diagnosed with ALS in October of 2023 and had struggles with this but kept on doing most of the things he enjoyed.
AUGUSTA, Maine – Maine Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is now seeking nominations for the next Maine ESGR State Chair. Nominations must be received by August 31, 2024.
