YPSILANTI, Mich - On October 1st, Joseph LaPointe, Manager at Maxar Mission Solutions was presented with the ESGR Patriot Award. LaPointe was nominated by Tech Sgt Patrick Sordyl of the Michigan Air National Guard.
In his nomination, TSordyl stated, “In my three years with the company, my manager Joe LaPointe and the supporting staff (Eric Dabkowski, Stephanie White, Brad Jost, and more) here at Maxar have never made my service feel like a burden and have always treated my experience and connections that come with my service in the Air National Guard as a valuable asset." He continued, "My pay and benefits have always continued at full rates during my calls to service and they have found ways to ensure that the work I’ve started gets completed in my absence as well as taking the time to quickly bring me back up to speed when I return.
The team here has also gone out of their way to give me resources and information that I can bring back to my unit to help me better accomplish my mission. No matter how short notice my military leave has been, everyone here has been highly supportive of my service and the unique circumstances that come with it. Joe LaPointe and the Maxar team are the shining example of what all managers and employers of Guardsmen and Reservists should strive to emulate.”
Thank you to Mr. LaPointe and the Maxar team for your outstanding support of our service members.
Presenting the award is ESGR Volunteer Fred Kaiser.
