RALEIGH, N.C. – Truist Vice President for Enterprise Data & Analytics, Nicholas Joy, received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Seven Seals Award for his dedicated support to U.S. Army Reservists, National Guardsmen and Veterans.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jason Robertazzi of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 315th Military Police Detachment wanted to recognize Joy, a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division, for leading Truist Bank’s Military/Veterans Outreach program.

Robertazzi said “He creates opportunities in the Raleigh area for U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers, National Guardsmen, and Veterans to build relationships with not only each other but connecting these individuals with prospective employers inside the community.”

According to Robertazzi, Joy facilitated a networking event at North Carolina State University for military students and alumni to connect with each other.  He also participated in Operation Toy Drop 2023 on behalf of Truist Bank.

Ken Oppenheim, Area Chair for N.C. Committee of ESGR said, “The Seven Seals Award is presented in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission.”

“National Guard and Reserve members bring a wide variety of skills and capabilities to our workforce, and employer support for their military service is critical to maintaining the strength of our Guard and Reserve units,” said State Committee Chair Ed Hamilton. “By valuing their military service and the personal sacrfices of their Guard and Reserve employees, employers are directly supporting the readiness of our All-Volunteer Force, and our national defense.”

Truist Bank is headquartered in Charlotte and was founded in 2019 after the merger of BB&T and SunTrust Banks. They operate in 15 states and the District of Columbia.

ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
