TROY, Mich. –Bharat Sekaran, Engineering Group Manager at Aptiv, was presented with the ESGR Patriot Award Dec. 4. Sekaran was nominated by now retired U.S. Navy Reserve Lt. Cmdr. Zhoumin (Mark) Hu who is a Senior System Engineer, Program Owner at Aptiv.

In his nomination, Hu stated, “Mr. Bharat Sekaran extremely supported me for my Navy duty on the day one he became my manager:

“He kept in communication with me during my Poland deployment and assured me the organization, team are ready to support me and my family; He offered a “comp time” style support to allow me using after work hours, weekend and holiday to catch up the work if my deployment is longer. More importantly, he truly appreciated my service to US Navy, which is the global force for good and sincerely help me to serve Navy. Therefore, I strengthened in focus and productivity during my deployment.”
