ESGR in the News

CAMP RIPLEY, Minn. – The Minnesota Army National Guard  2/136 Combined Arms Battalion conducted a Bosslift for soldier member employers July 20. The day began with an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) briefing at the Crookston Airport and a Chinook helicopter ride to Camp Ripley.

After landing the twenty-one employers were welcomed by Minnesota ESGR’s incoming State Chair Chad Sackett, briefed by the 2/136 soldiers, and transported to Center Range for an M1A1 Abram Tank live fire demonstration. The demonstration was followed up with the opportunity to watch the 70-ton M1A1s being loaded on to the Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) tractor trailers. What a great experience for the drivers and a thrill for the employers to observe. Finally, the employers had an opportunity to inspect and ask questions about the M1A1s.

ESGR is a Department of Defense office that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers. ESGR celebrates over 51 years of excellence in support of the Reserve Components and their civilian employers.
