Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (TXESGR) is a Department of Defense office, led and operated by dedicated volunteers and staff whose mission is to gain and sustain the active support of America's employers for the men and women serving in the Guard and Reserve by increasing awareness of federal and state laws, promoting compliance through education, recognizing supportive employers with an awards program, providing informal mediation services to resolve disputes related to an employee's military service obligation, and aid Guard and Reservists in obtaining career employment opportunities.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – As we continue to celebrate our 50th Anniversary, dozens of state committee leaders, volunteers, and staff of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) gathered at the Mark Center for the 2022 Annual National Leadership Meeting (NLM) November 17 and 18.
WASHINGTON – The 2023 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award nomination season opens October 1, meaning Guard and Reserve Service members across the nation can submit their exceptional employers for national recognition beginning October 1 until December 31.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – In this our 50th year, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve proudly announces the 2021 Volunteers of the Year (VOTY). Volunteers who serve in following functional and operational areas were nominated by their respective State Committee for the prestigious honor of being named Volunteer of the Year: Military Outreach, Employer Outreach, Public Affairs, Training, Ombudsman, and Operations.
